Jose, 65, runs a taco stand in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He ate what he liked and didn’t pay attention to his diet. Then, in 2005, he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. “When I found out I had type 2 diabetes I didn’t even know what it was. But my customers told me about people who have it.”

Jose’s doctor prescribed a diabetes medication discovered by Bristol-Myers Squibb. Jose also started exercising, eating right, and watching his weight. He enjoys following his favorite soccer team and spending time with his family. “I’m doing everything I can to take care of myself,” he says. “I’m so thankful.”
