“The work we do touches people.”
When Anne Marie graduated from Cornell University in 2006, she joined the Human Resources Development Program because it offered diverse on-the-job training and experiences to help launch her career. Upon completion of the two-year rotational program in the summer of 2008, she became an HR Generalist for U.S. Pharmaceuticals Sales.
To develop her skills and be cutting-edge, Anne Marie has completed a number of training workshops, both in-house and outside the company. However, on-the-job learning has been most important in her continuous development. “I have been able to partner with my manager, who provides real-ime feedback, enabling me to achieve success for the businesses I support,” she says.
Now that Bristol-Myers Squibb is transforming into a next-generation BioPharma leader, Anne Marie is busy focusing on the new talent needs of the organization. “We are evolving our business model, and our people are our most important asset, “ says Anne Marie. Her work in HR helps business leaders attract, develop and retain the best people for the company.
The sales organization brings our medicines to customers every day, and that is what impacts Anne Marie most. She knows the HR work she does to move the company forward makes a difference in people’s lives. “Since my first day, the sales organization has been facing change and meeting new challenges, which has created a meaningful and exciting journey for me.”
