Online registration is the first step in order to be considered as a BMS diverse supplier. Company profiles and diversity certifications are stored in a database that is readily accessible to BMS buyers and category managers at all locations worldwide.
Do I need to register if I am a current supplier?
Yes. Current suppliers are encouraged to register and upload their certification(s) through the online process. Current suppliers are also required to update their certification(s) before they expire.
What types of businesses qualify for the BMS Supplier Diversity Program?
In order to qualify as a diverse business, a business entity must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more of the classifications listed below. Bristol-Myers Squibb recognizes the following classifications for diverse and small businesses:

Can I participate in the BMS Supplier Diversity Program if I am not certified?
Yes, but only if you qualify and are in the process of getting certified as a small and/or diverse business. BMS requires certification through an approved third party agency such as NMSDC, WBENC, NWBOC, NGLCC, USBLN, Vetbiz.gov and SBA.
What is the benefit of getting certified?
Certification provides small and diverse businesses with additional avenues of access to business opportunities within corporations that actively seek to increase the amount of business with certified diverse businesses.
Where can I find more information to start the certification process?
Does certification guarantee that I will be able to do business with BMS?
No. It does not guarantee that your company will be awarded business. In order to do business with BMS, your company must demonstrate the ability to add value and high-quality goods and services that are competitively priced. In addition, your products and services must meet the standards and requirements of our category managers and buyers.
What if I am unable to provide all of the information for which the system is asking?
We ask that you put forth the best effort in providing all of the information that we are asking for as it would be to your benefit that we have more information at hand when we are assessing potential suppliers’ capabilities. In the event that you are unable to do so at the time of registration, you can always return at a later time to update or complete your company information.
I have completed the online registration, what are the next steps?
Based on your selections for the products/services your company provides, an email will be sent to the appropriate category manager or buyer. After they are notified, they will have access to your information to assess your company’s capabilities. If there is an opportunity, they will reach out to you directly.
What criteria do you use when selecting a diversity supplier?
Your company must demonstrate the ability to add value and high-quality goods and services that are competitively priced. In addition, your products and services must meet the standards and requirements of our category managers and buyers. Pharmaceutical experience is important. We also qualify suppliers based on their ability to fit capacity, capability and talent requirements.
When will I hear from someone at Bristol-Myers Squibb?
A Bristol-Myers Squibb category leader will be in touch with you when your products or services are needed. There is nothing else for you to do at this time.
How do I know if I have completed the registration process?
Once you have completed the registration and clicked "save", you will get a screen that reads: "Thank you for registering with Bristol-Myers Squibb. Your user id and password have been mailed to your e-mail account.“
I have forgotten my User ID and Password or I never received the e-mail when I registered. What do I do?
From the registration page, type in your e-mail address and click "Send me my user name and password.“
I have timed out of the application during my registration. What do I do?
Once you have timed out of the application, you cannot save the information you have typed. You must return to the login page and start the registration over.
How often should I update my profile?
You can change your company's information as often as you would like, but you should review your profile at least once a year. If any of your company information changes during the year, you need to update your profile so that we are able to view the most up to date information. If your company is a diverse business, it is very important to update your certification before it expires.
Who has access to my information?
BMS buyers, category managers, supplier diversity professionals, and other authorized personnel will have access to your information. BMS understands the sensitive nature of the information provided and will take steps to protect the confidentiality of your information.
