Product Integrity

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (BMS) is committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of its products as part of its pledge to extend and enhance human life. Counterfeit and tampered products represent a threat to the Bristol-Myers Squibb pledge to provide our customers with the safest, most effective and highest quality products. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that up to 10% of medications consumed globally are counterfeit or substandard, putting patient safety at significant risk1. There is no single solution to this issue; however, Bristol-Myers Squibb has taken the following actions in order to further ensure patient safety:

  • Creation of a specialized team spanning all business units to address counterfeiting issues.
  • Implementation of product security technology to make our packaging and products less vulnerable to counterfeiting.
  • Participation with industry coalitions and organizations addressing this issue.
  • Collaboration with supply chain entities on product security matters.
