Working at BMS Canada
BMS is proud to be an employer-of-choice that attracts the best and brightest people who work every day to deliver innovative medicines for patients with serious and life-threatening diseases. Not only do we hire the best people, we also provide them with a work environment that places a premium on diversity, integrity, collaboration and personal development. We have created an inclusive and empowering culture that embraces diverse experiences and perspectives of all our employees to drive Innovation and transformative business results.
Here are a few pillars that fuel our success:
We offer employees comprehensive Learning and development programs. We provide opportunities to learn and grow through in-person workshops, employee mentorship programs, alongside multiple on-line tools and resources.
All of us are working to contribute to our communities and the environment. Our employees are passionate about supporting the community, through programs such as Community Action Day. We designate a date every year during which employees select a community organization to volunteer with for the day—paid for by BMS. Our Helping Hands employee committee organizes fundraising activities throughout the year to help those less fortunate and support families in need.
We recognize and reward high-performing talent and employees who go above and beyond. Through programs like peer-to-peer nominated awards, BRAVO recognition and service anniversary awards we empower everyone to do their best work for each other and our patients.
We have built a workplace that works for our people. We offer flexible work hours—like summer hours and half-day Fridays—and programs that enrich work-life balance, like telecommuting. Through these, we aim to create a culture that supports work-life balance.
“We are very proud to be a part of Montreal's Top Employers for a second year in a row, said Guylaine Béliveau, Head, Human Resources, Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada. “This distinguished recognition reflects not only the value we place on our employees, but also the leadership roles we play in our community, with patients and in the biopharma industry as a whole.”
Montreal’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by Mediacorp Canada, the editor of Canada’s Top Employers. Employers are evaluated based on a series of criteria including: social, financial and family benefits, vacations and time off, communication with employees, performance management, training and skill development, physical workplace and work atmosphere. Organizations active in the same field are then compared to each other to determine which offer the most progressive programs.
