We seek a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Investigator with broad experience in application of genomics method in understanding Disease Biology with particular emphasis in cancer genomics. The scientist will be a strong contributor to the core Genomics Group that works with investigators across the company. The position will be part of an integrated team dedicated to understanding the mechanisms of Cancer resistance to therapy among other things. Primary responsibilities include various genomic and transcriptomic assay development and implementation in support of programs across multiple therapeutic areas, new genomic assay development and optimization, establishing collaboration across genomics ecosystem in Cambridge.
Design and implementation of genomic assays in support of various research programs.
Play key role in optimizing existing NGS methods or developing new NGS protocols to suit needs.
Co-ordinate with investigators to execute genomics project data and analysis in a timely manner.
Manage NGS instrument operation and Maintenance.
Manage Research scientists to deliver genomic data to investigators
Coordinate NGS data analysis perform data interpretation
Manage outreach and collaborations with Cambridge genomics community
Maintain lab notebooks, compiles data, and details written experimental instructions, particularly in areas involving new technology and/or novel experimental approaches.
The successful candidate will have Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology or Genetics or Biochemistry with at least 2 years or M.S in Molecular/Cell Biology or Genetics with at least 5 years of relevant scientific lab experience with emphasis on applied genomics.
Broad hands-on experience in molecular Biology methods relevant to genomics
Experience applying genomic methods in Disease biology questions
Experience in NGS library generation and associated methods.
Experience in advanced Cell and Molecular Biology technique is essential.
Familiarity with NGS data analysis and data interpretation
Experience in working with FFPE and other clinical sample handling preferred.
Expertise in Cell separation technologies such as FACS/Microfluidics is a plus but not essential.
Ability to communicate effectively and manage projects
Extensive people and project/matrix team experience, with demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
