Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) / Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL)

CLL/SLL is an indolent (slow growing) form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL), a type of cancer that starts in the B lymphocytes, which are a type of white blood cell.

Though CLL was previously classified as a leukemia, it is now recognized as a variation of SLL, and the disease is commonly known as CLL/SLL. If the cancer is found mainly in the blood and bone marrow, the disease is referred to as CLL. If it is found mostly in the lymph nodes, the disease is called SLL.
