Bristol Myers Squibb employees cycle across four continents to advance cancer research

C2C4C rides will span Europe, the United States, Asia Pacific and Latin America, uniting employees in support of cancer research worldwide.

More than 325 Bristol Myers Squibb employees from over 30 markets will come together in 2026 to support cancer research through C2C4C, a global employee cycling initiative. Riders will travel nearly 6,000 miles across Europe, the United States, Asia Pacific and Latin America to raise funds for cancer-focused nonprofits.

Now in its 13th year, C2C4C continues to unite employees around a shared mission — advancing research that can improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

“I’ve had the honor of participating in C2C4C in Europe, the United States and Asia Pacific, and it’s an incredibly powerful experience – from the connection you forge with your fellow riders to the people and stories you gather along the way,” said Chris Boerner, board chair and CEO, Bristol Myers Squibb. “I’m inspired by my colleagues cycling in this 13th year for family, friends and cancer patients. They embody our purposeful, patient-centric culture on a worldwide stage.”

 

A tradition rooted in purpose

 

C2C4C began in 2014 when a group of Oncology employees in the United States were motivated to do more for people impacted by cancer. Since then, the initiative has grown into a global effort that has raised more than $21 million for cancer-focused nonprofits worldwide.

Today, the program reflects Bristol Myers Squibb’s long-standing commitment to supporting patients and advancing cancer research through global partnerships.

Supporting research through partnership

Funds raised through C2C4C support nonprofit organizations working to advance cancer research and improve access to care. In 2026, charitable partners include the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and its member organizations across Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, as well as the V Foundation for Cancer Research in the United States.

“C2C4C brings together something powerful - people pushing themselves to the limit and a shared commitment to advancing cancer research,” said Susanna Greer, Ph.D., chief scientific officer at the V Foundation for Cancer Research. “The dedication of Bristol Myers Squibb and its employees, both on the road and in their fundraising efforts, plays a meaningful role in accelerating the research that patients are waiting for.”

“We are very grateful to Bristol Myers Squibb for continuing to direct proceeds from the C2C4C rides…and to all their employees who will cycle and commit their time and energy to support cancer organizations in their communities,” said Dr. Cary Adams, CEO of UICC. “The funds raised via C2C4C will help address important gaps in access to cancer services.”

The people behind the ride


Employees train for months and volunteer their time to prepare for the rides and support fundraising efforts. For many participants, the experience is deeply personal.

“In 2017, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In 2019, I rode in C2C4C for my father and mother-in-law,” said Joe Bolger, a senior specialty therapeutic area specialist from Ohio. “I’m honored to ride again in 2026. There is much work to be done when it comes to cancer research and helping patients live longer lives.”

Riders include cancer survivors and employees who are riding in honor of loved ones or those currently facing the disease.

“C2C4C is deeply personal for me,” said Peggy Somers, a C2C4C Europe rider from Belgium and HCP strategist, oncology. “After facing cancer myself and riding my first C2C4C, this challenge has taken on an even deeper meaning. Participating again is about honoring resilience, hope and everyone touched by cancer.”

Looking ahead to 2026 rides


The 2026 C2C4C rides will take place across four regions:

  • Europe: September 4–21
  • United States: September 10–October 7
  • Asia Pacific: October 6–20
  • Latin America: December 1–9

As employees prepare, C2C4C continues to connect people across geographies and experiences — bringing them together to support a common goal: advancing cancer research and improving the lives of patients worldwide.
