Position Summary
The Executive Director, Head of APAC Markets, is a key member of the International Market Access team. This highly influential role leads a high-performing regional access team to:
1.    Represent the Market Access (MAx) function with the SVP, APAC Markets, delivering thought leadership, strategic perspectives, and rapid responses to senior leadership.
2.    Drive strategic engagement across the regional matrix, collaborating with VPs of Global Policy, Global Medical, and General Managers to align market access priorities.
3.    Design and implement integrated strategies for market access and pricing across the region, supporting development, launch, and post-exclusivity phases.

This role is central to:
•    maximizing pipeline value through strategic planning and evidence generation, embedding regional market access insights to optimize portfolio readiness.
•    accelerating launches and portfolio growth by enabling informed, timely decisions to fully unlock innovative medicine value.
•    fostering a proactive, collaborative access team culture and community of practice that drives change and a shared future vision.
Key Responsibilities
•    Serve as strategic advisor and thought leader to regional senior management, including the SVP of APAC Markets, VPs of Global Policy, Global Medical, and General Managers.
o    Facilitate clear communication and information flow between MAx and APAC leadership.
o    Develop, align, and execute market access strategies for in-line and pipeline assets by collaborating across functions.
o    Act as a subject matter expert and trusted partner on regional reimbursement and pricing developments.

•    Advance market access objectives and support international growth across in-line and late-stage assets.
o    Drive value-based recommendations using robust frameworks to navigate policy headwinds (e.g., MFN, budget constraints, access restrictions).
o    Oversee priority market access projects, ensuring timely, on-budget completion with country teams.
o    Represent regional interests on pricing strategy and exceptions, engaging external stakeholders to shape policy and advocate for patient needs.

•    Lead and empower regional market access teams to achieve performance and excellence.
o    Coach and develop Access Directors and Associate Directors, fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
o    Manage talent through effective mentoring and targeted feedback, building a high-performing team.
o    Promote best practice sharing and alignment across functions for consistent market access execution.
•    Collaborate as a core member of the International Markets Leadership Team to drive collective outcomes.
o    Partner with Global Market Access and Pricing to optimize trial designs for future access.
o    Provide analytical insights and recommendations that inform decision-making, reporting for key MAx stakeholders.
o    Monitor, synthesize, and communicate regional pricing and access trends to shape ongoing strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree required; advanced scientific, MBA or health economics degree strongly preferred.
•    12-15 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience, including 5-8 years in international market access and/or pricing.
•    Deep understanding of the global biopharmaceutical landscape, with expertise across oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, immunology, neuroscience, and cell therapy.
•    Strong knowledge of market access, drug pricing, pricing systems, and global policy.
•    Proven ability to drive alignment and deliver results across matrixed and cross-functional teams.
•    Robust understanding of product development, launch, and commercialization processes.
•    Exceptional English communication and presentation skills.
•    Demonstrated critical thinking, contextual awareness, and ability to set direction in dynamic environments.
•    History of successful collaboration with Commercial, R&D, Corporate Affairs, Global Policy, Government Affairs, and external partners.
•    Ability to adapt and lead across diverse cultures, business contexts, and stakeholder groups.
