Country to Country for Cancer (C2C4C)
C2C4C in Benelux
From 18 to 20 September 2021, 6 BMS employees in Belgium, along with 5 colleagues from the Netherlands, cycled 350 kilometres through Belgium in support of Stichting tegen Kanker and Vereniging Kinderkanker Nederland. Together, they raised about 21,000 euros.
What motivated them to ride?
Stéphane was cycling for all those who will be diagnosed with cancer in the future. Peter was cycling for his family and friends who are affected by this disease. Christine and Sarah were cycling for all the courageous patients and their families who are currently fighting cancer. Paul was cycling because he believes we must do more.
Watch their stories and reasons for cycling in the video.
C2C4C worldwide
Every year, Bristol Myers Squibb employees around the world come together and express their unwavering commitment to cancer research. Around the world, they participate in the C2C4C rides: the Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer (USA), Country 2 Country 4 Cancer (Europe) and Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (Japan) bike rides. Over the past six years, BMS has raised over $6.7 million for cancer research worldwide.
C2C4C in Europe
Bristol Myers Squibb organised the 6th edition of the "Country 2 Country 4 Cancer" from 3 to 20 September 2021. In Europe, 150 Bristol Myers Squibb employees, divided into 16 teams from 14 countries, came together to cycle for 18 days. They covered almost 3,000 km in 7 stages, i.e., 360 km per cyclist in 3 days with the aim of raising funds for cancer research and for European cancer organisations that are members of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC). Since 2016, more than 1.31 million euros have been raised in Europe in this way.
BMS for Community
In 2020, BMS colleagues around the world, their families and patients exercised, moved or volunteered for the BMS for Community initiative. Not only did we reach our goal of one million minutes of walking, running, biking but we also donated $1 million to the fight against COVID-19. We exceeded it twice over by moving 2,967,388 minutes.
Move for Minutes was organised again in 2021 by BMS for Community. A total of over 3.2 million minutes of exercise, sports and volunteering were registred, resulting in a $1 million donation to Special Olympics.
