Update December 18, 2025, 4.30 p.m. (Press release from Mosadex and Bristol Myers Squibb)
Mosadex Wholesaler and Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) reach agreement for the supply of Eliquis
's-Hertogenbosch and Utrecht, December 18, 2025 – Mosadex and BMS have reached a temporary agreement for the supply of Eliquis. The anticoagulant Eliquis will be available to patients again from Thursday, December 18, 2025, through pharmacies supplied by Mosadex.
Each party has its own responsibilities within the pharmaceutical industry. Eliquis is a medicine subject to a pricing arrangement set by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, which has determined the socially responsible price. The manufacturer supplies the product and sets the purchasing conditions for wholesalers. Health insurers and wholesalers, in turn, determine which reimbursements and purchasing conditions apply to pharmacists. Pharmacies are dependent on all these agreements to supply medicines to patients in a responsible and affordable manner.
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and Mosadex recognize the importance of working toward a structural solution for the future and have entered into this temporary agreement as an interim measure until a definitive, sustainable solution is found. Direct deliveries of Eliquis by BMS to pharmacies can resume from December 18 via Mosadex Wholesale or Central Filling Mosadex.

Update December 10, 2025, 3 p.m.
Several media outlets have recently reported that the anticoagulant Eliquis (apixaban) will no longer be available to patients. This is incorrect.
We understand these reports may cause concern among patients and healthcare providers, and we would like to clarify the situation.
No shortage
It is important to emphasize that there is sufficient stock. Eliquis is available through multiple wholesalers and pharmacies.
Eliquis remains available
Bristol Myers Squibb delivers all orders in full to wholesalers who order from us.
We are aware that one wholesaler (Mosadex) is currently not supplying Eliquis to the pharmacies that would normally order from them due to a commercial dispute over purchasing conditions. This is unrelated to the medicine's availability or price. Other wholesalers continue to supply Eliquis to pharmacies as usual.
No need to switch
As there is sufficient stock, there is no reason for patients to switch to another medicine.
Advice to patients
Patients are free to choose their pharmacy. Patients are entitled to Eliquis through their health insurance and can continue to obtain Eliquis from their pharmacy or, if necessary, from another pharmacy in the area.
If you have any questions, we advise patients to contact their own pharmacy, health insurer, or treating physician.
