Patients are at the heart of everything we do
Patients inspire us, and they are the reason we come to work every day. Our patient focus motivates us to work smarter, faster, and better.
We believe in the power of science in addressing some of the most challenging diseases of our time. We have a long history of developing life-saving medicines and a promising pipeline that will shape the next generation of treatment options for various multiple indications in four therapeutic areas.
Oncology
Our cancer research aims to develop medicines that offer patients better, healthier lives and make a recovery possible. Through years of focus, we have revolutionised the treatment of more than 10 types of cancer. In addition, we are continually investigating how our medicines are administered to improve the patient treatment process.
Hematology
We develop medicines to treat hematological disorders, such as multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and myeloid diseases. We are currently researching new therapies aimed at biological processes and cell therapy.
Immunology
We are committed every day to further research into autoimmune diseases to develop therapies that improve patients' lives.
We are developing medicines for diseases such as psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and multiple sclerosis.
Cardiovascular Disease
Our research into cardiovascular diseases began more than 60 years ago. Today, we continue our research to meet the needs of patients with severe cardiovascular diseases such as arterial thrombosis, certain types of heart failure, and cardiomyopathy.

Our mission is to research, develop, and make available innovative medicines to patients with serious diseases.
As a socially responsible company, we strive to actively improve the health of the communities in which we live and work. Around the world, we are promoting health equality and are trying to improve the health outcomes of populations that are disproportionately affected by serious diseases.
