This production centre is our first European site where we plant our BMS flag and will be our fifth facility worldwide working on the development of cell therapy. The Leiden facility will entail innovative technology and cutting-edge production equipment to develop cell therapy for patients.

The construction work has started in autumn 2021 and the site is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2024.

Onboarding day

More new faces at Bristol Myers Squibb in Leiden! This month, we’ve welcomed and onboarded no less than 8 new colleagues. Such a joy to see our Leiden team growing and growing!

Almost each month we're having an onboarding day for all the newcomers where they receive information, practical tips and most importatently where they can get to know each other.

Family day at Leiden

On the occasion of 'Dag van de Bouw' in the Netherlands (June 18th) Arjen Schippers and Derek Finn invited everybody working on getting our first European Cell therapy facility ready to bring their families to Leiden. On the agenda: a guided tour of the Bristol Myers Squibb construction site at the Leiden Bio Science Park.

Showing our loved ones how and where we will bring these personalized therapies closer to European patients was a fantastic experience. They could feel our proudness when we showed how we are contributing to the future of medicine

Be part of a thriving community for life sciences

The new CAR T facility is being constructed in the Leiden Bio Science Park (LBSP), which is the largest innovation district in the Netherlands in the field of Life Sciences & Health. We are honoured to be part of a stimulating international community for innovation, cooperation and is a dynamic environment for life science professionals.

In 2022, Leiden is also the European City of Science and will hold a 365-day science festival. For a whole year, the knowledge region’s calendar will be packed with conventions, conferences, symposia, and workshops, where science is used to tackle the big questions of our time.
