The Senior Manager, Cell Therapy Receiving and Warehousing is accountable for the overall performance and operations of the warehouse and receiving dock at the Cell Therapy Facility. The Senior Manager provides oversight for raw material and consumable receipt, put-away, replenishment, management, and destruction for Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Facilities materials used directly and indirectly to support the manufacture and testing of commercial and clinical Cell Therapy products.

This is a direct people manager role overseeing a team of material handlers within the nonclassified CGMP receiving dock, Warehouse, and controlled storage locations.

Responsibilities:

People Leadership:

• Develop and manage team member resource allocation & shift schedules to meet workflow demands as a manager of individual contributors.
• Coach and counsel team members to develop their skill sets and create an environment of continuous learning, teamwork, transparency and a sense of urgency.
• Communicate with cross-functional leaders inside and outside of Supply Chain to drive successful outcomes for the site and functional business unit.
• Maintain and communicate performance metrics for team, setting and maintaining high expectations for team performance.

Material Receiving & Warehousing:

• Manage raw material/consumable receipt, labeling & storage.
• Conduct investigations and root cause analyses on any supply disruptions or material quality issues, report on corrective actions.
• Oversee shipment of materials to offsite locations (network warehouses, offsite storage locations, centralized QC testing labs, etc.,).
• Develop & maintain metrics.
• Serve as process owner and subject matter expert to help remove barriers and solve problems within department

Manage Area Quality Systems & Compliance:

• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained in all areas where group activities occur.
• Promote and engage team in safety and safety training program; foster a culture of compliance and strong environmental, health, and safety performance.
• Manage Site Supply Chain Standard Operating procedures.
• Own and manage deviations, corrective/preventive actions & change controls.
• Ensure appropriate training and qualification for staff activities performed.
• Foster a culture of compliance and strong environmental, health, and safety performance.

Operational Excellence:

• Promote a mindset of continuous improvement, problem solving, and prevention.
• Participate in and/or lead cross-functional

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Preferred but not required: Certification in CPIM, CSCP, and/or CLTD
• Experience within Commercial / Clinical Biotechnology environment is preferred
• Experience with people management is required
• Experience with Health Authority Audits (i.e. FDA) is required

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Life Sciences, Supply Chain, or similar.
• 7+ years relevant work experience required.
• 3+ years of experience supporting ERP systems (preferably SAP).
• An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may substitute.

The Senior Specialist, Investigations, Cell Therapy provides investigation leadership to the Devens Cell Therapy Facility. The Senior Specialist will perform root cause analysis, work with stakeholders to identify corrective and preventative actions, and facilitate impact assessments.

Shifts Available:

Monday – Friday, Standard Working Hours

Responsibilities:

• Conducting and managing the resolution of root cause investigations, including impact assessments, and CAPAs as a Lead Investigator
• Collaborating with many different groups/organizations as a Lead Investigator including Process Engineering and Support, Engineering and Facilities, Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control
• Proactively managing the progression of investigations and CAPAs to timely and compliant closure per established KPIs
• Presentation of investigation findings to key stakeholders and site senior management
• Use of Quality Risk Management and Operational Excellence principles to facilitate risk-based decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and eliminate waste
• Ensuring safe and compliant cGMP operations and maintaining permanent inspection readiness; Actively supporting regulatory inspections

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Experience utilizing root cause analysis/OPEX tools and identifying corrective and preventative actions preferred
• Experience with Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing is a plus
• Experience in cell therapy, biologics, or vaccine manufacturing/support desired
• Experience in cGMP’s and multi-national biopharmaceutical/cell therapy regulations desired
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to influence at all levels
• Ability to think strategically, and to translate strategy into action
• Ability to prioritize and provide clear direction to team members in a highly dynamic environment

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, biochemistry or related discipline plus 2-4 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical operations, or its equivalent is required

Working Conditions:

• Position may require working in Clean-Room manufacturing environment approximately 15% of the time.  Remainder of work is performed in an office environment.

  • Deliver accurate resource forecasts for reporting and budgeting

  • Build dashboards and reports for demand, capacity, and productivity.
  • Apply advanced analytics and innovative approaches to workforce planning.

  • Build strong relationships with R&D leaders and business partners.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) in life sciences or a quantitative field, preferred
• Industry Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in life sciences or biopharma
  • Direct experience in resource and capacity management within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Experience working with Clinical Operations is a plus.

• Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Expertise in resource modeling, forecasting, headcount management, and time tracking.
  • Proficiency with Planisware, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, and MS Project; experience with AI and automation is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of project, portfolio, resource, cost, and budget management.
  • Experience designing business processes, measuring performance, and driving cross-functional teams.
• Strategic & Operational Skills

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. You’ll connect teams, integrate systems, and curate data to empower decision-making for Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) and Resource Management groups.

You will leverage technical expertise and strategic insight, to enable capacity planning, automate processes, and develop actionable analytics—including interactive dashboards and AI models—to optimize resource management and business outcomes

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Data Integration

• Integrate multiple data sources and systems (e.g., Workday, Beeline, Whitepages, eTime, SuccessFactors, eReq, Planisware) to enable robust, comprehensive reporting and analytics.
• Manage and maintain role-based metadata and ensure alignment across resource management platforms.

Advanced Analytics & Reporting

• Pull, analyze, and generate monthly capacity and requisition reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights for Functional Leaders, Resource Managers, and Line Managers.
• Curate and prepare datasets for AI model development supporting resource management decisions.
• Utilize analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Python, dashboarding tools) to drive functional BOW and dashboard insights.

System Support & Continuous Improvement

• Manage Staffing Database (SDB), eReq, and Service Activity Forms (SAF) tools, supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) for releases and enhancements.
• Collaborate with SDB Tech Team and Sr Manager Business Systems to resolve technical issues and drive process improvements.
• Ensure data quality by resolving SDB Cognos queries and delivering reliable MEC capacity data for each function.
• Collaborate with Resource Modeling Specialist to enhance end to end process of demand forecasting.

Collaboration & Innovation

• Partner with R&D, Finance, IT, and Learning Teams to support role-based changes, maintain learning assignments, and enhance data-driven strategies.
• Identify and implement best practices for process improvement and resource management.
• Monitor industry trends and innovations, supporting the adoption of new technology solutions and agile methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Undergraduate (BA/BS) degree in life or physical sciences, required
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field, preferred
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in analytics within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• At least 1 year of experience in resource management in pharma/biotech, preferred.

Skills & Competence

• Technical fluency in project management and resource management tools (Planisware preferred).
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, R, and dashboarding/business intelligence tools.
• Ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable plans and narratives.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Understanding of project, portfolio, resource, cost, and budget management.
