To meet our mission of helping patients to prevail over serious diseases, we are committed to developing a 21st century workforce that is powerfully diverse and broadly inclusive, capable of discovering and developing important new medicines for patients around the world.

Inclusion and diversity (I&D) are crucial to business, now more than ever. Powered by the strength of our diversity, we want to build upon our strong I&D foundation to cultivate a workplace we can be proud of.

As part of our commitment to understanding the sentiments and perceptions around I&D within Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) UK and Ireland (UK&I) and build a picture of our team, we have gathered data from across the organisation through survey completion, Leadership team interviews, and focus groups with our People and Business Resource Groups (PBRGs), which help to foster a culture of workplace inclusion.

From this data we have summarised key takeaways that will create the foundation of our future plans.

The data story provides a picture of our “as is” culture at a national and site-level. You will see the journey we have been on, the areas of focus that have been prioritised to amplify the strengths and address the pain points and challenges expressed by our workforce, to make #makeBMSabetterplace.

This is not the conclusion but simply a snapshot in time, a starting point for our I&D action plans which will kick-off in the coming months. This action plan will see additional opportunities for our employees to get involved and make a difference to the place in which they work.
