In his role, Fernando “Fer” Salinas leads the BMS integrated global talent organization, inclusive of talent & culture, inclusion, learning, talent acquisition, and change and transformation.
“Inclusion is core to our business and how we operate. It guides decision-making across our global organization to deliver on our mission,” says Fer. “Building high-performance leadership teams, shaping our talent strategy, enhancing skills through learning programs, and fostering an inclusive environment drive innovation and improve patient access to medicines.”
Since joining Bristol Myers Squibb in September 2022, Fer has led a global team of more than 90 HR leaders across the U.S., Europe, APAC, the Middle East & Africa and LATAM. As the HR lead for commercialization, he was instrumental in driving commercial growth and successful product launches, implementing talent management, culture transformation, and organizational effectiveness strategies that have significantly enhanced business results. Throughout his 25+ year career, Fer has a proven track record of advancing talent and organizational capabilities in global, regional and local roles.
His passion for people and commitment to leading with inclusion is woven into every facet of his career and personal life. He serves on the Board of Directors for Arm in Arm and Girls With Impact, he is a Hispanic Star Ambassador for the We are All Human Foundation and is on the Advisory Board for Women of Color in Pharma, from whom he received the 2024 Women of Color in Pharma “Ally is a Verb!” award.
Fer graduated from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a degree in international affairs and political science, and earned his MBA from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has also completed executive certifications in business digital transformation and healthcare from several institutions in the U.S.
