As a global biopharmaceutical company, we pledge to continue to ensure the safety of our products as we work to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases.
Consumer Product Safety for Children
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 requires manufacturers to provide additional information on the child-resistant packaging of certain pharmaceuticals sold in the United States. In addition, manufacturers must obtain certification from an independent, accredited laboratory to establish that certain children’s toys and other products meet the necessary safety standards. Products for the purpose of laboratory testing, clinical testing, trade shows, samples or exports are excluded from the requirements.
More information about the details of this law and its implementation may be found on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
As a next-generation BioPharma leader, Bristol Myers Squibb pledges to continue to ensure the safety of our products as we work to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases.
We follow the applicable requirements of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act — the law that requires certain products to have child-resistant packaging.
